For the LC Tree Spree**, Gabriele has offered to teach us how to make ornaments from spices and pine cones. This is an old craft originating from the regions of Austria and Southern Germany. See the attached photo for a few examples; the versions we make may use some lighter colored seeds and perhaps even beads.
As discussed at the LCGC meeting on Wednesday, we’ll welcome interested LCGC members to participate in this ornament making workshop.
Monday, November 11 (Veteran’s Day)
Time: 1:00-2:30ish Ornament making
2:30-3:00ish Tea and cookies
Place: Nancy Clark’s kitchen
5 Grinnell Road (Warren’s Point)
Please RSVP sooner than later to nclarkrd@rcn.com and Gabriele Zybarth <burdicho@yahoo.com> .
We need to know (more-or-less) how many people to expect.
If you can, please bring a glue gun and glue sticks, reading glasses (if you will need them to see what you are doing), maybe tweezers — and patience…. 🙂
Hope to see you there!
Nancy and Gabriele
** For newcomers, the Tree Spree is a town-wide event that raises money for the LC Scholarship Fund. Many businesses and people donate a decorated tree; townspeople buy raffle tickets in hopes of winning the tree of their choice. For (2022) info : Tree Spree
